I think sucked out. Starry background - so my guess outer space with a part blown in the hull of the ship.

lol either way, to have all of that destruction and have all of those guys die in specific ways would take scripted sequences.

nah, MDL. Doesn't make sense to use IQM there, they're only one frame.
