Re: What are you working on?
@xage : Yes! Couple of code changes, a couple of maps. I can't wait to see your stuff, too! :) @toneddu2000 : I called it "controlled" because it is basically a way to move things around the map a little without a lot of coding involved. Mappers can enter information about the extend to wh...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
CocoT was there! I'm oooooooold. Also, from the site: After "thank you's", I think I should also give out some "go to hell's", so you guys know which news sites to avoid from now on. I'm not going to mention small-to-medium sites (because these ones do not always update regularl...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
This sounds great to me. As far as dates are concerned, I know some people really want it to coincide with the actual anniversary (or at least closer). I, like you, feel that we need to give everyone (including me) a fair shot at getting a little something out and, with such a short warning, I'd aim...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
@Ceriux : Yeah, I felt the same way :) @Baker: Yeah, I can totally see that. I think I'd want to wait for QBism to tell us what exactly (s)he can commit to (to make sure we have at least a vague platform to start with), then go ahead and do that. Maybe Spirit might also decide to get back in the gam...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
From QBism's post on Celephais: Announcement and site opens: June 22 (Quake anniversary) Registration opens: June 22 or at least within a month Qexpo dates: two weeks, August 27 to Sept 10 OK, whole post got lost in cyber-space. No time to repost right now, but to be brief: - I like the date QBism c...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
As a non-FB user I feel myself kinda... excluded with this idea. Yeah, I can totally understand that. I was actually thinking about it and it would be maybe confusing for Facebook users too anyway. Not sure I would want to use my personal profile, for example, which would force me to switch between...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
It would be fun to have some form of event, even if it is more limited in scope than what we used to see in QExpo. I'd be interested in working (a little) on one or two small projects I have. From the look of this and Celephais's forum, it does not look like anyone is ready to shoulder organisation....

Darkplaces + Google Cardboard + Trinus VR
Anyone got Darkplaces to work under Trinus VR (http://oddsheepgames.com/trinus/)? I've been playing around with google cardboard (https://www.google.com/get/cardboard/) and a few game engines (Unreal, Unity... etc) and I was disappointed to see Darkplaces freezing Trinus VR. Basically, the game runs...

... not to talk about the myriad of tutorials on this very site or Coffee's site. Again, just my two cents... I'm concerned when a thread about a possible QExpo becomes a list of things that the game is lacking compared to newer games. Now, I understand the argument that new people interested in cre...

Re: Expo 2014
Stumbled upon this thread and thought I'd give my two cents, since I'm a QExpo old fart. - In our initial vision, QExpo needed to be primarily about boosting a community that was slowly (but surely) ebbing away. I believe it helped a lot, even though it also came with some unexpected consequences (s...
