Re: Fileplanet closing down, archival in progress

I noticed that LOTRO-OSX-RoI.dmg was still available on the current fileplanet website at http://www.fileplanet.com/218758/200000/fileinfo/foo so I downloaded it and the checksum matches the FTP version.

Code: Select all

$ md5sum LOTRO-OSX-RoI.dmg
1be3ac9819921cdcb178891d79476c88 LOTRO-OSX-RoI.dmg
Yay! 1 down, 3 to go.

I could not manage to get the other files from fileplanet.com sadly. It "should" work using these URLs but I get either a blank page or a redirect to the homepage:

This one seems to want an existing installation of Riddick, which I don't have.
The byid version has nothing but zero bytes from some offset onwards but I cannot be sure it is broken and the other intact without some proof.
I decided to take a look at it with https://github.com/horsicq/XPEViewer. Turns out the byid one cuts off *very early*. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FPHbgLbXEAw ... name=large Since it makes no sense to be that way and the same phenomenon occurred in other files (that I could verify) I'll say byid=garbage and ftp=good.

2/4!

For pr_0909_full_part2of2_setup.exe I made a thread at https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showth ... p?t=151811 but if there is no reply soon, I will just take the AUSGamer checksum as very good proof (lol, what else do I even want) and move on to declare the FTP one to be the right one again.

EU2UK_ddsetup.dmg stays a mystery. :\

EU2UK_ddsetup.dmg
ItEndsWithTens was super helpful again on Twitter https://twitter.com/ItEndsWithTens/stat ... 1758181382. For the byid file [pre]hdiutil attach[/pre] gives a "may be a problem" warning while it does not do so for the fromftp one. So that's a good indicator and I call it done: byid=bad, fromftp=ok.

pr_0909_full_part2of2_setup.exe
I received a copy of pr_0909_full_part2of2_setup.exe from a member at https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showth ... p?t=151811 and ... it is another different file to the two I got! Dang! It matches their torrent so I have no idea what's going on. Since I need to get this project done I will call heuristics on this one: Since NONE of the mismatching files (and I sorted out quite a few ones before ending up with the 4 files mentioned here) were valid in the byid scrape but always ok in the FTP grab, this one *surely* also is like that. Plus of course the ausgamers hash matches which is another 101% indicator for this.

The one I got via the forum and which matches the torrent is:
md5sum: 88b8fb0c60e5688f69ea5f5e4a56ab55
sha1sum: e18a093bc93e8463d6273a3a264287c8012cdde5

4/4 done!
I'll prepare some torrents and share them on RTWN. Shout if you are interested. And I will add some info on the Archiveteam wiki and archive.org pages.
