Hmmm, and probably with tracking... changed it to a link. The grips looked interesting, maybe should be even bigger since it's going to need a laptop-sized case anyway.goldenboy wrote:Technically you just posted a very large ad.

They need to invent something that is really as useful as the mouse for portable devices.
Something like a right-side touchpad for the thumb would be an improvement. Little joysticks and buttons aren't adequate.
And "under $1000" price tag ... well ...
Plus "Intel® Core™ i7". The battery life on that won't be much, not compared to ARM (which every Android or iPad tablet runs). By the way, although it "looks" like a tablet, it isn't. That thing is actually a "notebook" without a keyboard with game controls (i.e. the operating system says "Windows 8" like not the mobile version).
It is a neat idea, though. And it is nice to see a company working on the concept.

The night is young. How else can I annoy the world before sunsrise?
Inquisitive minds want to know ! And if they don't -- well like that ever has stopped me before ..
Re: Tablet concept for FPS games
I wonder how a mini-trackball would work on the right side, for aiming. A proportional control joystick with the right dampening would still be a step up from a keypad... but they don't give detail on that. Tilting the screen for fine-tune control sounds interesting if it feels "seamless" with the control pad.
Re: Tablet concept for FPS games
It'd work great. But manufacturer's probably would never do that. They hate moving parts that can get dirty (like the mouse roll ball).qbism wrote:I wonder how a mini-trackball would work on the right side, for aiming.
Still you'd think they could simulate that behavior from a touch pad which doesn't have those problems.
