nehahra project?

Post by ceriux »

is it purely a movie? or does it have gameplay? i chose my difficulty but it just seems to be a really really long cutscene something has stopped me from watching it twice now and i always have to restart... cause the screen goes black. should i try again and hopefully finish the really long cutscene or is it better to just watch the 'movie' on youtube or something?

It is possible to just watch the 4-hour series of machinima cutscenes, just play the game, or play the game between the lengthy scenes IIRC. I'd try a current DP engine or BJP nehquake.

Of course there's gameplay. It's just the introductory cutscene which is very long (the one with the guy on the bike). I think you can skip the cutscenes by pressing a certain key. If that doesn't work, try "cutscene 0" in the console and start again. But don't forget to re-enable it again afterwards.
I recommend getting the Nehahra release from Quaddicted - it comes with all the updates and engines right away for easier installation.

Hello ceriux,

Just wanted to add this, just in case you was not aware of it.
The regular cutscenes between some levels are quite long as you noticed.
(I dont mean the Seal of Nahahra 4h-movie)
If you want to "skip" them (lets say, because you already saw it),
there is in my opinion no key available to do it.
But you can do the trick with "slowmo" command (when using DP).
Typing 'slowmo 10' in the console and once finished 'slowmo 1'

Have fun with this realy realy wonderful jewel in Quake history.
And just like Baker said:
Doesnt matter what you do, be sure to play the addon Tides of War too !
