SuperDuper Quake 3.0 Alpha Beta!

this is the latest version, but it is a BETA. or rather, an alpha of a beta...meaning, DO NOT USE THE GOD POWERS! i cannot stress this enough. do not even try to access them. also: obits not working; "such and such player killed the ..." not working; frags not balance, you only get one frag for boss monsters and the like; if you get stuck after dying while using the chasecam, hit F (default) to disable chasecam and then reenable it; higher levels may be too easy. there isn't much documentation, but this is how it works: you cannot pick up weapons anymore, you have to earn them by killing monsters. early monsters are easy to kill and they get harder the more you progress. your max health and armor increase progressively. every weapon type has two levels. you can earn regenerating ammo. new turrets have been added. superduper cheat is still there (use E with my included cfg). monsters drop armor and ammo. HAVE FUN!

No such entry as I can see for the download area or am I missing something?
sorry it takes a while for the uploads to get authorized. prob later today.

you will also need to use the biggest heapsize you're pc can manage. i use 512 mb like so

sdqengine.exe -game sdquake -width 1920 -height 1080 +coop 3 +skill 0 -fullscreen -heapsize 524288 -bpp 32 +map arena

extract to any folder in your quake directory, e.g. sdquake. overwrite is prob best, as i may have missed some maps in the archive.

darkplaces will work. also the remake quake engine and bjp's enhanced glquake. directq has one problem, being when i was taking screenshots, the game froze, then all the entities disappeared, then i fell through the map

also the deathbringer exploding lightning axe will sometimes kill you. i have ignore set to owner in t_radiusdamage but WTF i don't know what's going on

I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

fixed a bug with the god powers and now working on a couple of new powerups
