when i do that the config keeps getting over written, maybe thats because of the version of quake im using? still, either way for what ever reason the other versions of quake only crash on mods. (i wonder if nzp's engine will still run quake?)

edit: as far as i can tell i does not.

edit2: also biodude which psp do you have ? ( i have 2000 )

edit3: could things like this be why proquake crashes when loading mods?

I have the psp 1000, but it shouldn't make a difference really. Seems like you are having a bunch of problems for some reason

Try using kurok .03 engine

same thing happens with 0.3, i think its because there are psp eboots and psp 2000 eboots? which im assuming kurok and proquake are both psp 1000 eboots. nzp even includes a psp 2000 eboot.

I don't have a 2000 anymore, can't really help you there, try both versions of the engine.
