two sides. when you are hit, you go behind the other team in their prison. If your team tosses you the ball and you are in the prison, you go back in the game. When all players are in the prison, the other team wins. If you try to throw at another player and they catch, you go to prison.
That is a cool idea! I already have a mapper now, but he is busy with school..so progress might be slow. I'm still open if anyone is interested, I think this would have great replay value.
I already had some thoughts on the gameplay and physics. When you walk into a dodgeball when you already have one, you simply knock it away. When you hit someone with your hard throwing ability, the player goes flying way back Lol. I also thought switching to a third person view as you get taken out would make it much more exciting..I think I'm going to work on the catching model next.
Heh, nice idea. Can't hurt to have another entry in the 'Quake goes Sports' category. With a Quake dodgeball mod, the "bombardment" scene from Simpsons comes to mind. Though wouldn't it be more like Quake if it were played with a player (or monster) head instead of a regular ball?
I am highly looking forward to this. As a matter of fact, I had dreamed of this years ago, I'm glad somebody else has finally thought of it with the knowledge of how to. I can't wait Definately would love to help test this stuff out!
Haha, alright. I expected there to be only a total of one or two balls in the match - now it looks more like a dodgeball spamfest. Multiple ball types are a good idea. Ugly maps, though.
I think this whole idea is very cool. I like the Quake guy animation in post #1.
