Adios monster_amigos

Post by scar3crow »

I'm heading out from the land of the internet for an indeterminate amount of time. I'll be on the road for a while, and after that, well, I'm not sure where I'll end up, so I won't be around on irc, and less present on the forums.

If you have anything you want Newsed, give Error a nudge, I'm sure he'll be happy to accommodate.

If you want to contact me, you can try scar3crow at gmail, which I will try to find a way to check periodically. If it is urgent, those of you who know me better can contact me at myfirstname.mylastname at gmail, which I will make an ardent effort to check daily no matter where I am, since that is the contact I give for job applications.

Speedmod theme idea: where in Quake is scar3crow today?

Bon voyage, monsieur! Bring some souvenirs from Antarctica for us!
I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

Anyway... good luck your your projects! I hope to see you stop by here from time to time! :)

Sucks to see someone leave... but, a treat when they come back!

Also, try not to rape any of your students! I know it can be hard.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, except for Sajt, that was creepy. Also CocoT, I think your comment made my wife giggle.

I'm currently in Flagstaff AZ, a town we stopped in for the night, and loved. Both of us are looking for work (sudden unemployment is what sparked the original exodus) and hope to set up here. Of course being without a proper machine (I'm on a netbook here) and motel wireless, I suddenly am filled with an urge to get in some quality Quake playing.

I hope to properly return to the Elder World soon. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder (and absinthe makes the abscess feel smaller), and it has, I strongly wish to pour forth more effort into the Quake community on my return, more so than I had in these past few years.

Maybe it's time for the community to flourish again.

Hope you'll find a job soon! Good luck!

I am moderately returned, in that I have located another job, working with a QA contracting studio, and reside in Oregon once again. However I don't have a real internet connection, so I can't be trying out any releases, or playing online, but nonetheless, Quake life may be resuming somewhat shortly!
