I mentioned this in #qc but perhaps I should mention it here too, now that Supa mentioned that... Break free from telefragged! I was suggesting asking Echon for the space.
i'm thinking staying on inside3d as we got the domain and all, and moving over to quakedev would suck and wouldn't carry the same aura/atmosphere/feeling of inside3d if it's on a different domain.
also i don't like quakedev and the smf-is-god ethics
I didn't say merge with Quakedev, I actually never mentioned Quakedev, I only said ask Echon for space. I wouldn't want a merger either. We'd want the domain still, but breaking away from telefragged would only mean good things, wouldn't it?
Yeah, space is a bit of an issue, I guess. Allowing external links would go some way towards helping, but then we're bound to get 404's popping up all over the place.
It'd be better than nothing, though, and at least there's some hint that the mod exists, even if you can't always get it!

Make it such that only information and links are posted in the DB. Additionally, make it such that link updates (mirrors and whatnot) can be made to the download url. Perhaps even by people other than the author? (Subject to moderator approval to prevent malicious linkchanging) And to reduce moderator workload, perhaps even have it so that authors can set a mod's "sponsors" so that the sponsor(s) can update links and whatnot, should the author disappear?
