QC Centerprint Radar

Post by MauveBib »

I wrote this ages ago, but never got around to releasing it. It's a radar, using centerprint. It's very easy to plug into pretty much any mod.

The date in it is when I updated it veyr slightly a week ago, hence it's labelled version 1.1. All I altered was the instalation instructions, so I don't know why I bothered changing the date and version really.

I wrote most of it in January this year.

You should make a readme that notes that users should NOT attempt to run the example progs at resolutions below 640x480 or in 640x480 windowed (winquake), and notes what one would have to do to change the characters used. ;)

I might use this in TAKOP, with different gfx. =D

Actually I meant to take out the stupid "pushing it down the screen" thing, since it's resolution dependant.

Yeah, I should go back and tidy up the code to make it easier to change the characters used, but for me this is very clear and commented code. Compared to most of my code this is clear as anything.

Not like anyone ever looks at your code...

I did once and I was scarred for life.

Anyway since we're on the subject I'd like to remind people of my sprite based radar from several years ago:

LIES

I like Frikbot. He's always up for a quick DM, is small and portable, easy to teach a new mod to, always gives me feedback on my mod betas, and is general kickbutt cool. ;)

Mauve: Do it. Having something more polished (even if it's a small thing) is almost always a good thing to do.
