I'm modeling weapons after the Quake and Team Fortress ones (not exactly on the original concepts) with lower polycounts than Quake's originals as well as a good texsize (256x256) and i'm also doing it in md3 AND mdl.
This sniper is only 206 triangles compared to the previous horrible 600 poly sniper model
This shotgun is only 136 triangles, that's like 25 polys less than the original Quake v_shot2.mdl!
i should not be here

The shotgun looks good and give out a feeling of it beeing very strong, just need a better texture.
But the sniper rifle looks bad, looks like that tool used by medic to inject stuff into you blood, i don't know the english word for it

Oh, yea! A syringe with a scope on it. I fear the medic packing that thing! ^_^
I don't think either looks too bad... some serious skinning action could really hide the blurry look we're seeing.

why do you want low poly versions?

its certainly a change of pace seeing someone doing lower poly versions of models...
though the shotgun does look pretty good and could be quite fine with some real skinning

My exact thoughts, lack of detail on the skin hurts it but otherwise it's good
