Sagdoll Techdemo

Post by MauveBib »

I've released a techdemo of Sagdoll, which for those of you who live in cupboards is my qc ragdollesque system.

It should work in any engine, though I did get some packet overflows in dosquake after a while.

Go kill Nigel!

Really cool. The shaft becomes sort of a semi-gravity gun with this, funny!
One bug you most likely already know about, Nigel can hurt you when he falls on you (e1m1 plat at the start).

This really has a lot of potential, and it's already impressive at this stage. It would be great having all Q1 monsters converted to use this.
What exactly are you planning to do with this?

On behalf of Cupboard Dwellers of America, I resent the implication that we are ill informed due to our chosen lifestyle.

I'm releasing version 1.1 of Sagdoll.

I've tidyed up the code a lot, and made a few major efficiency improvements.

Also, limbs now use avelocity instead of setting angles directly, which makes it MUCH smoother, especially in slowmo.

Oh, and I've also included the source code, so if anyone fancies adding this to their mod, go right ahead.

I've still got to deal with the clipping limbs bug, but I'm working on it, honest!

It's awsome fun hurling those guys around with the rocket launcher. :D Maybe they should bounce very slightly when they land, when you shoot them up into the air they just stop dead on the ground.

Good fun. 8)

Don't think I will be dumping my grunt model for it just yet, but it will be interesting to see if anything more comes of this.

Hmmm, yeah the link apeared to be dead. I've reuploaded and it works now.

As for using Fileplanet, I did have it hosted directly in my PQ directory, but they told me off for that. If you can suggest somewhere better I'll gladly use it.
