Converting MD2 models to MDL

Post by hondobondo »

MD2:
Quark can do this fine.

MD3:
You can do it in Quark, though be prepared for annoying skin texture drag and suching into the editor and work around errors. And you'll have to rely on luck if your uvs will be preserved or not.

Quick3D can also do it, but it is a shareware program and it flips UVs vertically and breaks normals and also forces the filename 'shareware_output.mdl'.

Or at all depending on if you touch anything. I am actually looking into it, but it relies on Phython, a language I am not familiar with, although extremely interesting, but with lots of higher math functions and list management it is an interesting challenge.
Shoot everything that moves. When it stops moving shoot it again just for good measure.
