Inviting "veterans" modders to say "hi"
*sniff* Guess I didn't really post enough around here or maybe my name would have come up. The most complete quake mod I ever made was Eternal War, after that I'd have to say the neatest I did was GCV (Ground Combat Vehicle) a few Qexpo's back.

Woo-hoo!
BTW, there appear to be some repeats in the list. Dunno what that's all about. But, it's nice to have somewhere to send people to when I want to show them the comic.

When my computer inevitably explodes and kills me, my cat inherits everything I own. He may be the only one capable of continuing my work.
Why hello there.
I've just finished a Computer Games Development degree at University, so I'm putting my portfolio (obviously unfinished right now!) together and thought it'd be fun to track down my old mods, so I searched for hurried11.zip and got that other thread as a result. I didn't know I3D was still around!
So then, being vain, I decided to search for "akuma" and found this thread. I'm honoured that people still remember me at all, since I left a long time ago!
I'm currently job hunting. My university course has a 100% post-graduate employment rate, and I'm on track for a 1st, so I hope to find somewhere within the next few weeks. In fact I really need to since after rent day the wife and I will have no money. Yikes.
I still talk to Deej a lot. Hoping to play GTA4 with him sometime this week, actually. He's working on a Masters degree in games since his BSc turned out to not be that great a course.
Can't think of much else to say except you guys are very cool for keeping the community alive after us wasters just up and leave! I hope you're all well and am really interested in hearing what you're all up to.

Well, we are the oldest Quake community, we can't exactly just let it die =)
What am I up to? I just dropped out of school much to the chagrin of many and the relief of my own, I am working on a few mods for Quake Expo which I hope will get released, I am also working on a standalone game using its own engine, being developed by a close knit group and am currently in the application process with a game company at the moment (my on site interview is soon).
So thats what I'm up to.

Hey Akuma!
It's weird so many of us are in or actively trying to break into the games industry. Especially considering the age of the game all our resume work is for. (At least in my case).
I'm also sad that so much of the community has fallen out of touch to such a degree. I still make checking the I3D forums a daily ritual.

Well we are the best of the best, of course we are in / trying to get into the games industry. And I dunno about you but I still have contact with many "old" Quake people like Akuma, Deej, Bram, Electro, Heffo, ArchAngel, c0burn, Gleeb, KrimZon and everyone in #qc and #dp of course.FrikaC wrote:Hey Akuma!
