Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Thats odd. I ran it at work just to see if it was ok and it ran fine for the few minutes i tried it. the only thing that was missing where the msvc runtime but fine after I installed them. Runs is a 32bit Wineprefix as well for me in Linux at home. WOW you know what? Are you running Windows XP by ch...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Understood and thank you qbism! I got as far as compiling wxwidgets without issue inside a virtualbox Window XP using mingw, but then I couldn't figure out the actually compiling of the TB2 src code with mingw. DoH! I've only tried to compile a few things in windows so its just my lack of knowledge....

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Do you have a windows package built already somewhere online? If so 32bit, 64 or both? I'm going to attempt to build for Windows so I can have TB2 on the go with me when I'm not home on Linux. I can provide Windows build of TB2 if you need it for package. I don't normally compile things outside of l...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Thank you. I will give it a shot, but it gets to 21% then chokes on more missing files, but they should be there. I see that file on Github and its in common/src/Model/ so no idea why that error. [ 21%] Building CXX object CMakeFiles/common.dir/common/src/IO/Hexen2MapWriter.cpp.o /home/retro/compile...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Following your advice with TB2 it actually starts to compile(although I found my mistake why it didn't try the other way as per build.txt), but you see where this chokes out after running make. [retro@ToolBox build]$ make Scanning dependencies of target version fatal: Not a git repository (or any of...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Not wasted at all. I myself have wasted 4 hours of straight time trying to get the 1x version and now the 2.X but neither compile. Compiling this is a bad time for me for sometime I just want to "use" without hassle. Thank for your compiled build(1.2 b462) it seems to work (got as far as r...

I'm a terminal kind of guy and yeah I know how, but appreciate the git help. :D
ericw wrote:yep, either download the zip after selecting the branch in the github web ui, or

Code: Select all

git clone https://github.com/kduske/TrenchBroom.git
cd TrenchBroom

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

So 2 is good enough to try? I want to check it out. I already have wxwidgets 2.8 and 3.0.2 installed in my Linux system. OR just take the NewArchitecture branch, which is TB 2.0, and use cmake to build it. Once I figure out how to grab the NewArchitecture branch I've try to compile that. I do know h...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Oh I understand and I made a github account a little while ago so I can submit my issue later after a nap. Depressing attempting and failing to compile so many times today. :) Hey there. Please submit this on github and we can try to work it out. It's hard keeping track of problem reports when they'...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Well the current wx version is 3.0.2 which was the 1st thing I tried with and it failed. I've had some time away so I'll try it again maybe I messed up something setting up the wx source. In windows, I compiled successfully with wx 3.0. Might try a newer version. AND still fails. http://i1149.photob...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Has anyone successfully compiled TB on an Arch based distro? The Linux compile instructions are very Debian eccentric, but followed with arch based equivalents best I could. I look to have all the necessary headers installed, but it compiles to the point where it looks like it almost compiles, but t...

Re: The TrenchBroom Level Editor for Quake

Same as any other editor I believe just add a minlight value to the worldspawn. how do i set a minimum light level for a map in trenchbroom? Oh BTW if you're using TyrUtils add a Worldspawn entry as "light" and a value of whatever you want as instructed in that readme: Worldspawn Keys The ...

I know he uses or had used the dp engine, but pretty sure the mod runs without engine specific extensions.
