Re: New FPS project, need help
And... I'm required to say this... the project might benefit from exposure at the Quake Expo. But, QExpo projects, don't have to be Quake related to be exposed? I ask this because I created a game from scratch with FTEQW but I didn't dare to create a booth fot that! No, it may be any Quak...

Re: New FPS project, need help
Warsow is one of the few open-source FPS projects with a cohesive visual theme for modeling, maps, and graphics. Is there an art direction in mind for the new project? The Quake scene is typically into low-poly stuff. A very few active and talented modelers and artists exist, mostly on quakeone and ...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
Blues News posted a blurb and I just sent an email to rockpapershotgun.
BTW, doors open Saturday! I'd encourage registration ahead of then, although anyone can still register during the expo. The two-week duration of the event gives some breathing room but it will go fast.

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
Many sites have posted about the Expo, but it would be great to improve coverage from news sites and from the QuakeWorld side. (Anyone active on quakeworld.nu?) Also valuable are comments on popular game sites if you can work a Quake Expo mention in there... Twitter posts are a top referrer. Use #qe...

Re: What are you working on?
What am I working on? Hype . Taking https://qexpo2016.com from zero to ...? The goal is 50 booths of good quality and 100 active members by the time the Quake Expo is underway. So far, 15 booths have at least begun construction and we have 40+ members, many whom you'll recognize. Here's a graph of v...

Re: qbismSuper8 builds
fte's r_softwarebanding cvar uses glsl to provide a mip*lightmap lookup in a similar way to software rendering, resulting in the same ugly banding effect. I just downloaded the latest and tried it. The best emulation I've seen! Especially with the colored map lighting. It reminded me of Engoo rendi...

Re: qbismSuper8 builds
I wonder if the SDL buffer of a hardware engine like QuakeSpasm could be shoved through a palette lookup table before swap. That would give a convincing software engine look with a few lines of code and a few milliseconds of overhead.

Re: qbismSuper8 builds
Thanks toneddu2000. I try to keep the engine running, but this thread is going on 5 years  Also keep an eye on Mark V winquake. Many cool features, especially in the console. Just a question: what is no lerp list? Is it a list of models (like torch) that doesn't have to do linear interpolation ...

Re: Quake 20th BirthDay
...well, I HOPE CocoT is around somewhere. June seems to be starting off slowly in the Quake scene as those in the northern hemisphere start to notice that round orange light in the sky a bit more. In hopes of gleaning more interest, https://qexpo2016.com will start posting Booth Previews...
