Re: What are you working on?

Yeah the weird wall angles are unreal-y. BTW I am replaying Unreal right now, and it is funny how it can look more advanced than Quake in some aspects (visual effects that would appear only with Quake 3 shaders) but also more primitive in others (the lack of detail in map geometry is jarring compar...

Quark and Rom are scary.

Defender looks badass and mean. Kinda reminds me of what I want for the Illithid Brain Controller enemy in Smash. (Mine is more skeletal, with a jetpack, and the brain is more brain-in-a-tanky.)

Re: What are you working on?

More from scratch texture work, coupled with some prefabbing for later use. I'm using Q2BSP format here. I messed up a bit on the screen ceiling texture, the center parts are rectangular, so I'll have to remake the texture. I used a q3a-style shader to get the screen mesh working right, along with t...

Re: Quake "champions"

Well, it seems that Quake Champions is getting lowest score in Id games history , at least on Steam. I quickly read some comments and 80% of criticisms are regarding poor net code and sh*tt* servers. Plus, it seems (I didn't buy it yet) that no bot AI mode has been implemented  Ouch. Well, D...

Re: What are you working on?

Who did you send the PM to? IIRC, PM's remain in the Outbox until the target user checks his messages. Are you sure? It never happened before. Anyway it has been sent now, thanks O_o I didn't do anything. No, seriously, haven't touched a thing. Anyway, if it got through then everythings g...

Re: What are you working on?

Better, definately. Very cool effect. Do you think you'll make a video someday to see the effect in action(even a gif would be ok)? [TO THE ADMINISTRATORS]:this forum is litteraly falling apart. It's 2 days that I'm trying to send a PM to a user but the message remains in the Outbox folde...

Re: Registering on the Inside3D Forums Part 2: The Revenge

Please enable "kaisersozeh" Sorry for the wait, kaisersozeh has been activated. some of the mail.ru adresses might be xash devs, the author of this quake/half-life engine is russian ;) Maybe, but most of the ones I've enabled (and since disabled) were all apparently spambots, judging from...

Re: Registering on the Inside3D Forums Part 2: The Revenge

I've activated a few, but I also saw quite a few with what appear to be invalid e-mail addresses. I've activated a couple that look potentially suspect too (mail.ru email addresses), so if spambots start showing up, be prepared for it. There's no shortage of easily identifiable spambot accounts sign...

Re: I ALWAYS knew it!

O_o I would have thought that this was already well known by now... As far as the Quakeguy is concerned... I would say that he isn't related to them given the demonic apocalypse of Doom 2. (And the apparent lack of comment in Quake about such an affair, Portal / Slipgate research would likely have b...

Re: Modding Quake 2 movement

Unfortunately, no. Also, due to Quake2 lacking a VM of any kind, crossplatform requires that you compile separate gamecode files for windows, linux, mac, etc. And since very few (that I''m aware of anyway) Quake2 mods ever released the gamecode source separately... I'm planning on making a Quake2 QC...
