Yes, there's a way, but it is complicated.

Tools you need:
Quark 5 (.md2 to .mdl conversion)
Q2 Modeller (This is where you do the hard work)
Some sort of graphic editing program.

Procedure:
Basically, you need to add the weapon's skin into the main model's skin using the graphic editing program ...

Sounds almost like some sort of .currentammo problem. Is your weapon somehow improperly setting the .currentammo rather than the actual ammo type?

Thanks guys! It means a lot to me knowing that other people like the model too. Also, I'm sorry if I've been a bit of a pain in the butt over on #qc as of late trying to get people to try it.

I guess after all the work I'd poured into the model, I ended up catching a case of Artist's Vanity :P ...

Very nice, I think it would make a good replacement to the current "phpbb" skin that's on here now. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't show how many views a thread has had.

Edit: Also, maybe instead of "View Unanswered Posts" it should be "View Posts Since Last Visit"?

I don't know how different your code is to the original Quake source, but...

Have you tried checking the bound_other_ammo() in items.qc? Pretty much all ammo is properly leveled out by this function.
