Re: qbismSuper8 builds
I think it was this one http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=56145 i remember i couldnt get the code to run unless i added -fwrapv to the -O3 optimizations, it seems to be caused by the switch from ppl to isl optimization libraries. There was also a bug in current release binutils (cant ...

Re: qbismSuper8 builds
Gcc has a known history of goofing up with agressive optimization :)
some versions Work some dont so as a rule of thumb i allways use O2 and specific optimization options to rule out the optimization switches that fail.
Many (but surely not all) failures are actually due to bugs in user code. Gcc ...

Re: QuakeForge 0.7.2 released.
One thing you should be careful about after adding w64 support is the
socket types and the relevant return codes: socket() returns SOCKET
type which is actually an uintptr_t, however the quake code assumes
signed int32 everywhere which does work for w32 but not necessarily
for w64. My solution to ...

Re: COM_Parse and multiline comments/DP save compatibility
The problem with the QF code posted here is that they would stop at the first '*' within the comment, e.g. something like:
/*
* $Header$
*/
... will result in '$' as the first available character, an issue which I hit myself. Correct one would be like the following:
// skip /*..*/ comments ...

Re: uHexen2 (Hammer of Thyrion) v1.5.5
I played a little of 1.5.5 Win7 x64 and it ran smoothly in both software and GL. Native laptop mode was detected (1600x900). Was trying to figure out how to shepherd with the teleporter without telefragging them. Pushing barrels around also works nicely. Amazing how they can be pushed off the edge ...

Re: uHexen2 (Hammer of Thyrion) v1.5.5
by 'version 7' progs, I *REALLY* hope you refer to a fourth type of 'version 7'.
the fteqcc-v7 implies a whole load of new instructions, as well as some other twiddles.
the qfcc-v7 implies a whole load of new instructions also, as well as some other stuff that I've not read enough to explain.

Re: uHexen2 (Hammer of Thyrion) v1.5.5
If you are referring to the stuff posted by Siggi at http://sourceforge.net/projects/uhexen2 ... ic/5568940 then no: he said himself that his implementation is very slow (see one of the last posts in the thread), so I didn't add.leileilol wrote:Did the software -conwidth stuff get in?

Re: uHexen2 (Hammer of Thyrion) v1.5.5
Did you get the image loader code i posted to Work ? or was it scrapped :) just asking out of curiosity.
If you did you should probably scrap the DDS portion as it newer worked to well besides its still in the blue if its legal to use.
Sorry, the external image loader stuff didn't make into 1.5.5 ...

Re: Trying to organize SDL Quake's mess
So, i'm trying to get SDL Quake organized, by removing unused and obsolete code. Based on the popular SDL Quake codebase, which of those files are safe to remove? vid_win.c, snd_dma.c, etc. They all seem useless since SDL was implemented. Or am i wrong?

Most possibly a sneaky stack corruption bug, although a compiler bug is not impossible either.
