the gorrilla arms are indeed intentional, my problem is kneading the verticies so I can make all the important parts of the model bigger without things looking silly, and maybe redoing the shoulders.

yeah, blender with texture filtering turned off. I intend to have gl_nearest on so I can have tiny textures that don't look muddy.

as for the soldier, I think I need to change his proportions to make the gorilla arms more plausible, which will mean a new and better UV layout and a new and better ...

irritant: That's p. boss. How suitable would that be for darkplaces?

the soldier is ~400tris with a 128*128 texture (WIP) and the guns are ~100tris with 64*64px textures. I'm working on a carbine and sniper rifle. And I intend to get a testmap ...

for future reference, tell mac users to get to system profiler, click view, mini profile and then file, save and save as plaintext. In any case I hope this helps and if you want I can get the engine logs, but that will have to be later tonight I don't have time to stop what I'm doing and wait for a ...

the good: runs arwop smooth as glass at 800*500 on my 2006 macbook.

the bad: quitting while in fullscreen gives me a blank screen and no way back to the desktop.

didn't know you had to change to the src directory before you ran the compiler, all the documentation ...

that one gives "permission denied" when I open it in the termial, and it's icon doesn't say that it's a unix executable :?

I found one that's supposed to be for leopard, but that always gives me a "could not open progs.src" error. To be honest I'm not that good at macs either.

[request] mac version of fteqcc

I've been googling around for a build of fteqcc for snow leopard, but the binaries seem pretty thin on the ground, and the one I did find was built in 2005 and won't work on snow leopard. There's build instructions in the xonotic forums but I don't have the 8gb for the apple developer tools (os x ...

You've posted some more and I think I'm starting to get a clearer picture of your dilemma. People don't like you because you have bizarre political views that don't seem to have any grounding in the real world, spout them in forums about video games, and when people tell you this is inappropriate ...

mikeusa: I have some advice for you and I think you'd do well to listen.

1. Calm down, don't worry about what others think, especially on the internet. Also; consider whether you're overreacting to a guy who's working on a very big, very ambitious project and who might even have a life afk.

2. It ...

A very unrealistic WW2 total conversion for the darkplaces engine. I'm aiming to keep it well under 256mb and have it run on some of the worst computers ever made. It's kind of going to be the ideal game of me and some friends I lan with*.

EDIT: feel free to suggest names, right now it's just "ww2 ...

I used to play the first quake on my neighbour's computer so much that he gave me his disc, and saved up for quake 2 when I saw it at the local computer store. Unfortunately I didn't have the internet at home so I missed out on the multiplayer revolution and the mod scene, and my interest waned ...
