Re: Demonstration- Darkplaces Dynamic Day/Night/Weather syst
I don't know if you are being sarcastic or trying to take a jab at me, but assuming my acts in the past are still following me today is a mistake and offensive. No where in my post does it state "PSP", nor is there any major gramatical errors(I try my best to keep it tidy and correct, I'm human ...

Re: Demonstration- Darkplaces Dynamic Day/Night/Weather syst
It is all done in QC. I actually think it would work just as well with any other camera angle.
Here's how it works.
-There are 2 points on a map(Preferrably placed much higher than the rest of the map, to represent a sun.)
-The 2 points are placed on oposite corners/sides of a map
- A "sun" entity ...

Yup exactly. Its still muddy some time after it rains, and eventually it all dries up and is dusty again

Demonstration- Darkplaces Dynamic Day/Night/Weather system
I have decided to code a fully dynamic day/night/weather system.
Features(WIP):
-Sun interpolates between 2 points between a given time to create a smooth Day cycle
-Day cycle interpolates colors at different parts of the day to differentiate between morning and dusk
-Night cycle with controllable ...

Best way to do Vegetation?
I am looking into vegetation(3D grass and plants), and have a couple various ways in my mind to go about it. I am curious to see how you guys would do vegetation for Darkplaces(Most optimal, best looking way).
My ways would be:
1- Create a particle graphic, add it to particlefont, alpha mask it ...

Traceline speed
Is it possible to control the speed of a traceline? Or are they instant point a, to point b?

Trailparticle getting chopped up
So I have created a tracer for a bullet. The bullet is a temporary entity and thinks every 0.05 seconds to call upon the function "trail" to create a trailparticle behind it a bit. It works fine and all when I shoot 1 or 2 bullets. But When I shoot 3 bullets, the tracer particles flicker and/or ...

Thank you Again Seven. I fail to find documentation on dp_refract and dp_water as well. Mind explaining them a bit?

Re: Darkplaces Sound engine?
Well Dang. Sound pitching really got me excited and I love having it. Its one of my most favorite features that Darkplaces has gotten. I hope for more sound features because sound is really an element that can really make or break a game. Adding 3D sound modifications in realtime would be so nice to ...

Thanks for your so helpful post Seven. It really helped!
In the shader for dpreflect, what does each parameter do? I failed to find documentation of each parameter.

Darkplaces Sound engine?
Does Darkplaces have any features that allow you to dampen sound or add an echo effect in realtime? If it doesn't, how hard would it be to implement it?

Does Darkplaces have reflections?
Does Darkplaces have real reflections of any kinds? Like setting a material to be able to reflect the environment or other entities? If so, How can it be done?

Re: What do you think of this project?
Thanks! Im doing most everything 2D using a 3D 2 dimensional plane in-game, and laying it near the ground. Beings that the camera is top down, everything looks 2D, yet you get cool modern day particle effects, as well as a 3D world to explore. I have been trying to make the 2D planes 8 bit, but ...
