I have been playing around with the thought of using http://berkelium.org/ for HUD / menus recently, but I dont have the time to even try. Plus I doubt I know enough to sucesfully implemt it.

I my as well shamelesly plug myself here, my entry for the turtlemod made use of both csqc and menu qc, theres not a whole lot there but there should be enough to show how it all goes together.

.tgas use a serprate alpha channel. In photoshop select all the areas you want transparent and then goto the channels tab and click add a new channel. You may need to invert the channel (I can nerver rembear if black is transparent or not :S ).

I added sql to darkplaces to track kills and other stats, for each kill I call a built in and add it to the in memory db and I havent noticed any stalls at all.

Or seeing as hes using Darkplaces he could just use Q3BSP and be free of hull sizes.

The .veiw_ofs offsets from the orign of the players bounding box. So you can change the mins and maxs when you set the model to adjust the phiysal size of the player and then use the .veiw_ofs to get the camera ...
