I'd advise some form of customizable ability to use items / buttoncombos via external files for Painkeep / TF / Duke / Quake2 style items and also stuff like "double tap then hold to use jetpack" moves. (see hellsmash super jump move for the last bit)

An engine side bot using external files would ...

I've had this happen when my quake window lost the focus to another window... like a firewall window wanting permission to allow quake onto the network.

Also, looking at some of the old grappling hook mods may be of some use.

Not bad!
The second tut is pretty good. I like the way you talked about each line of code.
And you're right... doing these types tutorials will definitely improve your speaking skills. Kudos to you for the self improvement!

Keep those videos coming... I'll definitely be looking for them!

Well, I ran in to a bit of a twist with QCPad. Turns out that Window's "undo" and "redo" do not play nice with my syntax highlighter.
So, I decided to see how hard it would be to create my own "undo\redo" functionality. It turned out to be easier than I thought it was going to be!

The "twist" wasn ...

Haha!

leileilol, your video makes it look easy! Though, I think its because you've been doing this for awhile. :)
I've always looked at creating my own models as a daunting task to learn... Ha! maybe you have just inspired me to give it a try in the near future!

Ah, the memories.... loved the humor, the large levels, and that colored lighting was friggin cool back then.

Yah, I'll buy it for nostalgic reasons... "It's time to kick ass, and chew bubblegum... and i'm all outta gum" (Had more one-liners than Arnold)

As far as the compiler cares (except perhaps for printing which it is), its the same.
The defs.qc file is different (before end_sys_fields), as are the builtins. This might cause issues if you hardcode builtin names. The engine loads qwprogs.dat instead of progs.dat but that's just a filename ...

Well, QCPad is coming along just fine! :)

I pretty much have the syntax highlighter done. At the moment I'm stitching it into QCPad. There are a couple of minor things that need to be looked at later, but for now they are minor... one in particular is detecting and colorizing the multiline ...

Quake is for sale on the Android AppMarket... for $2.99 and has been there for awhile. My guess is that the app market for Android isn't monitored too well.
Even if it was legit I personally wouldn't purchase it... I'd go nuts trying to play it on a phone!

thanks guys , but really, I want my icons, wallpaper, start menu, mouse etc to have the bloom effect or HDR effect
The easiest thing to do would be to "skin" your desktop with HDR images and icons. Though, I think what you are really wanting is something that will do HDR and/or bloom dynamically ...
