Well Rhogog (big blue prop) is probably going to become mdl as opposed to func_wall and we want to do alot with model itself.

Madfox has tried it before on a big scale to make skybox style mountain range around the periphery of an outdoor area.

Brushwork just isn't very good for details, in any ...

Yeah, that's a bit annoying. I think there's a very inefficient hack I could do with thin water brushes and skip, but it'd be a waste of resources. No big deal though, it is a DM map.

Not even greater FPS - the faces are still drawn, but their Z-Sort value means they're behind the rest of the world.

It's just a visual thing - water shouldn't have walls inside it.

Strange that DM1 gets some complaints, visually its far better than the original. Need to polish the gameplay a bit.

Ouch.

Well, at least we've got our get out of jail free card - it is a demo; expect revisions.

Thanks, feedback is always worth it.

CTF1 is a bit of a mistake really. It's the type of arena that Quake isn't geared towards, so needs a machine more powerful than the norm (for Quake) to run. bear in mind though that it's supposed to run with around eight players, I was testing with 7 bots.

I ...

Give the bots a try - the Cauteriser (or Caut) is more fun to use than look at :)

Yeah CSQC is a tempting pandoras box of tricks, just got to be careful of feature creep . . .

CTF1's waypoints are a bit poor though, did them in a hurry so they're pretty simplistic.

Interesting impressions.

I suspected the same about the bots - that they seem to have some sort of buff the player doesn't. Could you keep playing and try a few different tactics? Against humans will help, but the bot simplicity of play makes them a good benchmark.

I think its basically tha we're ...

If there's demand for Threewave conversions then I'd prefer to change their maps to include grapple points. I wasn't for grappling until it was in - now I spend alot of DM time monkeying around with the Cauteriser thinking "Wheeee!"

Localised grapple points allow the mapper to plan out their use as ...

Off topic, but I'm wondering if you'd like a job Lightning Hunter.

I sent an IM through inside3d as well but don't use the board enough to know if it notifies for a reply.

This is for the RemakeQuake team, we've got alot of custom code and maps, and the frikbot. We're finishing off CTF mode and ...

Will do. Most likely it'll become a modified (as opposed to hexen2) fire as well.

Well, the rain is placeholder - I doubt particles will look so great, but I'll try it anyway although tbh I'll have to look into how to make a . . . particle quad?

If it was to remain a model then it'd have something like a 4x4 pixel texture - it really was just an oversight, so don't go breaking ...

Well, in theory the sound is everywhere - I screwed up. It should be global with the thunder and some mild trickling sounds at some points, with the actual rain sound loud outside.

Ah well, it is an alpha.
