Re: every couple three years

also given that the mod scene has been scarce across all quakes, the expo would have to be open to them all I think. I don't care if that's blasphemous or anything.

Re: What are you working on?

Good luck! Don't let the license zealots bite. Also btw I got a full 256 color lookup working by cutting the color values to 18-bit first (256 per channel -> 64 per channel), which allowed it to cache the whole palette. Still no LUT texture though. It's also slow as hell. Maybe I should try to hack ...

Re: What are you working on?

I had a bit of fun with looking things up, given "glsl quake palette" is an engine trend around here http://leileilol.mancubus.net/crap/palettes.png Unfortunately it's a vec3 array and not an actual LUT texture right now and to get this to work I had to reduce color values to 18-bit and th...

Re: What are you working on?

Actually reminds me a bit of the 'fog' volumetric light effects in Doom3 and Unreal and playstation-era flares. It's the 'chiaroscuro' with the light direction coming from the vieworigin right? For dealing with torches I would just do an EFFECTS flag that would only make the fullbright pixels not dr...

Re: PCem

What I want is to use old tools like AdQuedit (which doesn't run properly on anything newer than XP) and to install a Linux distro. For vintage Win9X tool use i'd just use VirtualPC 2007 since that can use virtualization and has drivers for Win9X, as well as drag and drop (kind of an important thin...

Re: PCem

either way Virtualbox sucks because it doesn't have any display driver to use with W9x guests. PCem on the other hand has a crapload of options :) A screenshot of the ViRGE emulation running Q3 via a D3D wrapper with the filtering off (and yes q3 can run on a 486 processor ;) upping the cache defini...

All Electro wanted to do is show to his like-minded longtime pals in what he once considered home. He didn't post this on a linux gaming mailing list.

Is common courtesy too much to ask for these days?
