I have made the map so big it only runs on FTE, but so far I don't have any feature that really demand a particular engine. I may even "fold" the map so the coords are safe for other engines. I did tried to add FTE shaders, but is a hard topic, learned a lot and can't even do a "hello...

Maybe (this mean I don't have idea):

The engine calculate that the object is not visible, so is not send to the clientside.

So you either break it in different parts, make it a bsp, or force it to be visible everywhere, or stuff like that.

A precompiler builtin in a compiler is a nice feature.

So with a single exe, everything works out of the box.

I use to miss a precompiler on QC for years, but I suppose once you get use to not having one, is not that bad.

Precompilers are a delicious perversion.
