Take a look at the alphashadow shader keyword - it should do what you want (i.e. use the alpha channel when working out shadows rather than the opaque polygons).

nm, I just remembered I can just recompile the exe with the shareware code disabled until I can get to the shops tomorrow :)

Modding on shareware quake

I did a reformat and can't find my Quake CD :'(

is there a sneaky way of making quake pretend it's registered until I find the CD or buy another one?
