Re: What are you working on?

Thanks chaps. The lamp posts are not models as you've guessed; they're the third iteration of them and the most complex and best so far and are not entirely unlike some uk lamp posts. I think the scale's off, but the generally shape isn't too far away. I would prefer them to be mdls, but, although I...

Re: What are you working on?

Tried the rain globally. Too much slowdown, even for light rain. I am looking into more dynamic, localised rain though; future_stuff!
In the meantime, I've been playing with skyboxes: http://earthquakemod.wordpress.com/2013 ... 3_08_2013/

Test of both a damaged car and fire placed in the main level. Pretty pleased with both for now.

Cheers Seven, that's really helpful guidance. Already implemented some of it, with good effect. Thanks again, ajay

Re: Fire

Hi Chip
Is it the same as in this thread http://forums.inside3d.com/viewtopic.php?p=24040#p24040 ?

If so, how do I take that code and use it?, I'm not sure at all, does it go in DP_extensions.qc? Really need basic info?!

Re: What are you working on?

Today I've been organising my map; making sure all elements e.g. buildings are grouped and saved separately to allow for easy tweaking and updating, plus I cleared up all the test maps and bit and pieces I'd made while working on the level. I've also played with making ghost monsters, nothing diffic...

Junrall (or obviously Chip!) did you get it's usage sorted out? Also how do I place this in a map in terms of using the editor?

Re: Fire

Thanks everyone. I'm off on holiday tomorrow so I'll look into those suggestions when I get back. What I'm really looking for is way of creating large areas of fire, say to cover a car; I was somewhat hoping there would be dp_extension type thing where you make a brush, tie it to func_fire entity an...

Re: BSP2 and Darkplaces

Oh golly, yep DP supports it "as is", without hmap2 compiling. Which is great obviously.
