Meh, I registered quakewiki.org a while ago hoping that Echon (quakedev.com) would be willing to setup his end of it. He never replied to my contact attempts. I think it would be tremendously helpful to the wiki to have it at a nice place (here =URL).

I'll continue to try contacting Echon.

Thanks for the bump, I'm rather sad it hasn't been able to move yet, it is a much more favorable URL.

I'll try and keep on occasionally posting to it, and I must implore those with technical skills (good understanding of mapping or quakec particularly) to help out occasionally on expounding on an article, or simply defining a function or entity. We are seeing, happily, an increased flow in new users wanting to create content and this would be an excellent resource to not only archive the culture of, and engender an appreciation of the culture of Quake, but to also service as a bit of technical reference (things like crandom versus random, what vlen is best used for, how to use an info_counter and so on).

Humping bumping!

If you followed func or #qc then you know that I am working on a resurrection of this.
Thanks to LordHavoc I was able to import the Quakery Qwiki content and the site is now live for testing.

I migrated it from mysql to sqlite because I prefer that. So there might be newly introduces bugs.

Alright, if you want to help:

Play around on http://quakewiki.org/ and test the functionality.

Do not do any constructive work since I will reimport from scratch!

Test things, edit, register, visit random pages. try features.

If you had an account at quakery.quakedev.com/qwiki it should work. Go to http://quakewiki.org/w/index.php?title= ... -rendering after logging in and choose the Monaco theme.

See http://quakewiki.org/ for a list of bugs and errors and please add ones you find there.

I will properly announce this in a new thread once it is ready. The theme is done by the mighty Starbuck. It is work in progress.

I liked the small icon at left so much that I think you should rename the site to Quakenomicon. :P
J/K, good to hear about this! :)

I made the mistake with a witty name once with Quaddicated Quakaddicted and I made sure not to repeat that. :P

It's live at http://quakewiki.org/ and the mappers are already very busy editing. Feel welcome to join in. Thread at func http://www.celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=60913

Still some things to discuss before it is out of beta:

How would you guys like character cases to be handled? By default Mediawiki makes the first character uppercase, which makes Cl_forwardspeed and Monster_demon1 look super silly in my opinion. So I set http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgCapitalLinks to false. This made the whole thing case-sensitive though. What would you prefer? Easy linking or "proper" URLs?
