AtomicGamer is shutting down July 2015

Post by Spirit »

AtomicGamer is shutting down. Who at Inside3D is in charge/contact with them? What will happen to this site?

Marv came by #qc:
<marv> Can someone from inside3d ping me? This is the person who hosted your site
He left a mail address, which I won't paste here for privacy.

Welp, suggestions for a contingency plan ?

Well poop. :(

I might be able to give you admin access on the forums if that would help, but beyond that there's not much else I can do.

I just found out via Rich's Facebook post about it. The forums has a backup option which we could theoretically use... And I can just download everything on the site itself that I have permission to. But as for the domain and the continuation of the forums? I don't know. I've got hosting for scar3crow.com which has unlimited domain addons, but I'm not knowledgeable in web hosting at all.

The domains seem to be in question right now. I can put the non forum content on my own domain, and will happily share archives of both with a few people (looking at you Spirit). But the community needs a place to go and discuss things.

I guess at this point, everything is on the table.

Made this thread a sticky, removed sticky from the others to emphasize this one.

This is an opportunity in theory to get modern forums somewhere with spam bot protection so the forums can organically grow.

Wow, that was fast! Awesome work, guys! :)

Any chance to get the inside3D domain ? It's actually irrelevant to me, but I believe may break a lot of links and bookmarks elsewhere.
