I just played a couple levels of the alpha. The colorful "art-deco's vision of the future" style stands out in a crowd, and is also self-consistent. Likewise the 2D/3D entities and effects blend well together. In fact, some of the items like the lamp posts were not obviously 2D until moving around them.

I agree with the comment that it's easy to get lost. I imagine that the style would be expanded to allow more distinct "themed" areas.

I like the anime flavor. The exaggerated aspect could be pushed further, to make items and enemies more distinct. Some of the pickups and explodable items are not clear as to their use.

Clearly this is a good candidate for tablet or gaming device. I don't know much about the PSP. Seems like tablets w/ decent game controllers on the side would be competition, can do more stuff with them. I'd have trouble buying a gaming-only device, giving up a keyboard is tough enough...
