I'm slightly amused by this discussion. First the compiler, now the monsters. And the avatar.

1. I'm not sure how much help and support you could get for Quake 2 here.
2. First of all, how proficient are you with programming? What other programming languages do you know or use?
3. What is you final purpose regarding qFusion?

Try these:

http://q2scene.net/scene/ (seems active and more Quake2 related)
http://www.moddb.com/engines/qfusion
QuakeWiki
getButterfly - WordPress Support Services
Roo Holidays
