Kot in Action has released beta 1 of Episode Two of their DarkPlaces powered arcade shooter Steel Storm, which not only comes with additional explosions, but enough features to warrant an unordered list:

Two new environments
Three new missions for single player and cooperative
Two Capture the Flag missions
New weapons to shoot
New enemies to shoot with new weapons
Achievements to boast of
Real time mission editor
Gamepad support

Clearly you aren't going to find this much awesome elsewhere, and its available to those who pre-ordered, so go give the beta a download, and if you haven't pre-ordered, you best remedy that soon!
