What is exactly the problem ? The lacking brush to form the arch top or the textured alignment ?
Using QuArK, I'd solve the first this way:

Most of the time, snap to grid is your friend.
This example uses a 8 qu grid, which works fine for most maps.
The misaligned textures are more complicated, I don't know any way to reliably make them look right without a lot of hand tweaking.
(that's why most of these cases I'd go for some texture that don't require alignment at all)

I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC

Textures look fine to me, but its missing the top point. Easily fixed.
Here is one I just started. I used grid 4 for the trim work only.

I only did it cause you posted yours..
Another 40 mins to add the bars and so some texturing. I had medieval thoughts in my head initially, but had no idea how to texture it that way well so I went Egyptian.

If this was in a map I would imagine it would have lots of blood and lava pools if not a river some where...
