Hello)) I want to create mod for Hexen 2, but i don't know, how did it. I make maps for Quake with Worldcraft 3.3 and Quaketools for it. Whether there similar set for Hexen 2?

http://dronedev.net/mapconv/

That page has a program that converts Worldcraft .maps to hexen 2 format.

You then have to use Hexen 2 variants of the map compiling tools, for example from here

http://uhexen2.sourceforge.net/

You can also use other map editors to create your map and then convert the .map file to Hexen 2 format as described here

http://spawnhost.wordpress.com/2013/04/ ... 2-radiant/

By the way, I suggest hammer of Thyrion or FTEQW as engines for Hexen 2 these days.

Yes. You need the gamecode and a hcc compiler for that.

For the gamecode from the uhexen2 page, you presumably need to use uhexen2's hcc compiler as well since someone liberally substituted "loop" for every do...while in the code.

You might ask at QuakeOne.com and say "I need a Worldcraft 3.3. .fgd file created for this". There are more than a few Hexen 2 people and a few people familiar with Worldcraft 3.3. there = better chance.

And use this link instead (Your hexen2qc file) because many people are deterred by download services that make it hard to get the file.

I didn't use an FGD file when I made my Hexen 2 map, I just used this site:

I'd use Worldcraft 1.6 for Hexen 2. It has a proper FGD file as well.

I don't understand why you chose to use a version of Worldcraft designed for Half-Life over one designed for Quake, Quake2 and Hexen II...

The 3D accelerated OpenGL preview window mostly.

The Worldcraft 1.6 software emulated preview window slowed to a crawl on complex maps, if I recall. No other good reasons.

Hello Naykin,

There was a post from Rino just a few days ago, which might be interesting for you.
http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-talk/o ... post135112

Rino is reworking his Hexen 2 maps and adding new textures to them.
Rino is very helpful/kind person.
You can/should contact him via his Hexen 2 website/email regarding all your other questions as well.
I am sure he can be helpful because he went through the same issues you are facing now.

Please be sure to also mention the tips and hints also in this thread, so that others can benefit from them too.
That is what a open forum is meant to be and should do: Multiply knowledge :)

It is very good to see that people are working on new Hexen 2 maps.
Thank you very much.

Best of luck and wishes for you,
Seven

PS: If you want to visit Rino´s Hexen 2 website, please scroll down his page. English text can be found on the second/lower half of the website.
