Have you ever thought about adding an option to export to OBJ?

No, I haven't, and I'm not sure it's possible / feasible. What would you use it for?

I'm a very good Quake 1 mapper and i've been playing around with UDK and Unity lately. Being able to export levels to OBJ would allow me to use my levels in virtually any game engine, not just Q1. Also, your level editor is very intuitive and MUCH better than UDK's default BSP tools or Unity's non-existing ones.

I see. So would you want everything exported (brushes with "outside" faces and all) or only the "insided" facing faces of the brushes?

Everything exported, since this gives more freedom to the mapper and could be used for modelling buildings in non-BSP engines as well.

@JasonX

There is a well working workaround to get your map as a model
at least if you are using Blender it is going to be straight forward

Here is the link that i posted 1 site before
http://www.moddb.com/games/zentense/tut ... o-torque3d
it contains all intel you need - to get something from TrenchBroom into Blender and to your Engine of choice.

I know this is no direct solution and my appologizies if am moving the discussion away
- ofc a export to .obj function would be great to have.

It does make mapping fun, like Sketchup for Quake.

Yes, a new version with many new features and support for other games is under way, but unfortunately I don't have as much time to work on it as I'd like, so it's still a couple of months off.

Can`t wait, i would just wish for some curve options and a smaller grid size but anyways looking forward to the new version.
