Mergefaces
Am I confused or does mergefaces do exactly what I think? I've got a tesselated floor tile, but everytime I compile all the faces get merged. Anyway I can keep this from happening?
also, what editor do you all use? I really need to get away from worldcraft. As I understand there are better ways of mapping.

Re: Mergefaces
it won't merge them if they differ somehow -- for example different textures, or different texture alignment.
For your floor, perhaps you can make two identical textures and alternate them like a checkerboard. Since no two adjacent tiles share the same texture, they won't be merged.
I won't ask why you want this in the first place.

Re: Mergefaces
Worldcraft is fine for classic Quake mapping and if everybody else around you is also using Worldcraft.

Thanks melt. I'll give that a try. I've got cell shading on so even if I have them all the same texture, it still gives a nice tiled effect.
