I downloaded a very nice (and i supossed with advanced edition) map from : http://www.phantazm11.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=80 to test the it in darkplaces. The map works very nice but i found a strange spotlight with texture. I can get a similar effect using a dynamic light with cubemaps in darkplaces but the question is: how can i get this effect using just a q3bsp and q3map2? i suppose is a kind of advanced shader or lightmap, i do not know many about this. Thanks in advance :).

It's crafty decal work. This technique actually dates back to the 90s as well

sorry, I cannot give a useful comment.
I only wanted to say Thank you for the link.

Escpecially the "Castle Map" screenshots look like pure art.
Wonderful wonderful levels. Phantazm11 is a great mapper.
Lights, ambience and architecture are amazing (from judging the screenshots).

Do they work right away (unchanged) in DP ?

The maps work´s very fine in darkplaces (quake with multiplayer)!! You just to put the pk3 in the folder of the mod and run darkplaces with "-listen 2 +map **" (aniway you know how to run quake multiplayer in console, but maybe someone do not know it) you can see the complex arquitecture done in the maps, but some shaders doesn´t work correctly (you know the blend of layers limitation of darkplaces). q3bsp is a great format to run maps in darkplaces, the problem is that q3bsp does´nt support lighstyles! if you need switch a light you only can use RD lights :(

ohhh so i will use this technique and a shader with "q3map_surfacelight " to get a nice work !! Or simple cubemaps :lol: !!
