What do you map with?
Just wondering what map editors people here use.

I am using QuArK and I hate myself for it. Everytime I decide to make a proper map (to release somewhen that is) I get stuck with QuArK's stupid .12345 brushes and problems with non-rectangular brushwork. I tried other editors but never got into them.

WorldCraft 1.6a shareware.
Every once and a while I get my hands on the registered version, but it doesn't really matter - I don't use prefabs and I don't use the GUI compile feature.

GTKRadiant - mostly the 1.2 series because the pull and surface inspector tools are -- oh what is the word, like 'decomissioned', taken out, oh man, it's gonna bug me -- in later versions. 1.5 is pretty nice except for the matter that I mentioned.

I used to use Worldcraft 1.6 but then I switched to Hammer just because of the shitty 3d window in Worldcraft.
When I started mapping I used qED though. Oh my god. I paid for it to! Such a difficult editor to use. It came with the worst textures I've ever seen too.

I've tried Hammer/newer Worldcraft versions, and while the 3d window is definitely much better, I was too annoyed at the extra build step required to deal with WADs to keep using it.

aye, it's a bit of a hassle to load your wads in the first place, but once you have, there's no extra work.
I really should learn radiant though. I've tried a few times but I always get uncomfortable using it and switch back to WC/Hammer, back into my comfort zone. I think I've heard a few people saying the same thing, there's something slightly alien and scary about radiant when you come from one of the old skool editors.
