No reason to not have one this year.
Who should I be bugging the most to make it happen?

1. Bug potential hosts. quakewiki has dibs
2. Bug everyone to get a 'consensus' on the date.
3. Bug people on the various yet sparsely populated Q1/2/3 forums, so they'll show up.
4. Bug writers and reviewers so there can be good coverage and publicity.

I'm here, listening. Not sure if I can host it, as my wife is due in May, but I'll do my best.
And, yeah, I think I have dibs on it.

Wow, congrats! Another Quake-er on the way! Remember, it's never too early to get them started modding.

Judging from the buzz on both here and terrafusion, I'm pretty sure that a qexpo would be a wild success. So let's get going.
First off, I'm not going to beat around the bush and say that I have a keen interest in being the host. But if that were to happen, the expo's date would need to be August (way too many plates spinning in June/July for me), which, I think, would be in the best interest of everyone wanting to take part? Because if we announced a June date now, it could be a bit too short notice, whereas a late August date gives everyone six months to prepare.
That, and the former expo hosts whom I'm going to bug quite a lot are also going to be busy in the coming months, as far as I can tell.
Don't care much where it's hosted as long as it's stable and reliable. quakewiki.net would probably be the way to go, then.
Perhaps a splash page with something like "August 2014" can be posted on expo2014.quakewiki.net?

Really? Voting is a waste of time.

I don't see many people commenting here and agreeing to an expo. I think voting is good before considering the expo this year.
