Hi guys im new to all this business of programming but im extremely willing to learn. Not so long ago i downloaded the QuakeC manual and i have been reading through it. But I was just asking, is there anything else which i could use to cross reference with the manual, because im understanding parts but it just feels like im reading and not learning. Also where can I find a QC compiler??? I think that might be helpful also.

Hope i dont sound retarded to you guys

Just about all the information you can want to find about Quake coding can be found on the Quake Wiki. It's not limited to QuakeC stuff, though that's included, it also has engine coding, mapping, and other information.

Of course, as I'm posting this, that website seems to be offline, it should be back in a while.

As for a compiler, the most popular seem to be FrikQCC and FTEQCC. http://www.inside3d.com/frikbot/projects.shtml and http://www.fteqw.com
