Not very good news, guys: writing from my ye olde & trusty notebook, since I just had a (apparently) fatal failure due overheating with the programming rig. Nothing is lost since the failure didn't affect hard disks, but I won't be able to proceed coding as I was expecting for some days. The good news are I'm going to use this opportunity to do a much needed hardware upgrade next week (my current gaming/dev box was +5 years-old anyway).
Anyway, regarding the thread subject I decided to take the "declarative + conditional" line proposed by mk and I'll keep reading the thread in a irregular basis, so feel free to make comments. And I'd like to make clear that this "scriptable hud" thing isn't intended to replace CSQC (except of course regarding HUD's, heh
).

I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC
