Remake Quake weirdness

the map looks fine in vanilla quake, but in the mod it looks like this

i've tried disabling external textures and removing config files. not sure what else to do

also external alias model textures don't work, darkplaces style

i had relit the maps with mh's tool in id1\maps but the old map files were copied in sdquake\maps
