Darkplaces minimum and recommended requirements?

Postby Zylyx_ » Wed Feb 11, 2009 4:14 pm

Hey all!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the minimum and recommended requirements for running Darkplaces under Windows XP and Vista. I wasnt able to find this info on LordHavoc's website, so I was wondering if anyone has any info on this.

My current guess is this (for the minimum requirements):

1.8Ghz 32bit processor (either Intel or AMD),
512mb RAM
128mb graphics card with support for shader model 1.0

Thanx !

The minimum i've found myself is:

Pentium II 233MHz / AMD K6-2 300MHz
96MB RAM
100% OpenGL compatible (NO WRAPPERS) video card of at least 8mb of memory (3dfx, nvidia, powervr and ati works)
SDL compatible sound card
Windows 98 (It did use to work on Windows 95 two years ago though)

I'll second that. DP can be very 3D card friendly if configured correctly, and if one doesn't try anything silly.

yeah the only ones I couldn't get to work were a Voodoo2 (though this wasn't with the mesafx driver), PowerVR PCX2 (no blend modes) and Trident Blade3D chipsets. Even the shoddy nVidia Vanta card will work fine with DP
