skyboxes

This is just about engine related so please bare with me :)

I'm making a rather large map, which uses a skybox. All well and good, nice outdoor, nice skybox, until .... the maps gotten bigger, and therefore the surrounding box larger also, and now tomazquake has stopped showing the sky, and the default quake sky is shown.
Darkplaces, however, shows it fine.

Is there something I can do to enable the skybox in tq?

The map runs pretty smooth, it's the size it is for a reason, and I woudln't want to split it into 2.

please provide the file to download to test

You really use loadsky command or something similar?
Are the command loading skybox on other maps?

Darkplaces, however, shows it fine.
