Sentry gun patch

Postby frag.machine » Mon Feb 04, 2008 8:59 pm

This is a small but complete patch (QuakeC source + progs.dat + models + example map) to add a sentry gun in your mods. Yeah I know the sentry model sucks :P and there's no new sounds (i reused the base doors and the message "beep"). Also the sentry is a bit stupid but c'mon, you really don't want a sentry too smart, do you ? You're free to use it as you want, feedback is appreciated. Have fun.

awesome, nice work. is this something that you feel is "complete" or will you continue working on it over time?

have you thought about expanding it to make the player able to build one to use against monsters?

I made a sentry gun you could actually man after you build it once.

The mini-turret model from Conquest might work for ya if you want a different one. I think it's still available on the condemned mods downloads page.[/url]

wazat: thanks for the tip, I'll check it out later.
Error: no, it's far from complete. It's just a 2-hour job, and I need to fix the aim code to use in deathmatch. I made it to use in a sp map I was working on and I felt like I could share it with someone else. An upgradeable sentry like in TF2 definitely would be a good idea.
