But redrum wasn't talking about precaching files... and he WAS putting his monster spawning in WorldSpawn() so Frika's post didn't really make sense to me...

Hmm... you're right. While FrikaC made a good point, it wasn't specifically asked for. Thusly, his post was a waste of trees.

The best way in your case would be to spawn an entity, which has a delayed nextthink, and a think function which sets all the different parameters to make it a solid monster, much like the way respawning items is handled, where they are not actually removed, they are just invisible


Think function != worldspawn. I'm cautioning about combining the solutions offered. Precaching normally occurs in the spawn functions, so if you follow Sajt's advice plus Urre's advice, you'll attempt precaching out of a spawn function.

Guess I shouldn't speak in such generic terms :P

Also, I'm DP damaged, I don't even think about precaches anymore...
