/me sighs

I woulda thought that the neat vlen based code stuff that lets you shoot something without the use of hacky hull crap would have drawn at least a little attention, but whatever... :/

I've not been present lately on the forums, so I just saw this, but when I get my desktop up and running at my place (which may happen tonight) I will give it a go.

Everyone else sucks for not responding to something potentially cool.

Well, Supa on #qc told me that it was cleverly done overall.

I've decided that the reason this got so badly ignored is because the demonstration progs.dat is pretty crude, and as I mentioned before almost NO prettiness.

That said, I'm gonna take a couple of days off HellSmash work and cook up something to properly showcase this, so keep your eyes open.

Good stuff, dude. Sorry for not trying this before. Also the railgun-like trail is a nice effect.
I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

hah cool
definitely some nice trickery going on in the code there, well thought out! :D

There's been a real lack of good weapon code lately... I'd like to see more original stuff in Quake (even if it is just a concept from another game executed really well).

Gogogo make some nice visuals for this ;)

I made a ground pounder a few months back... Nothing worth releasing, but it was fun to use and I don't recall a weapon quite like it in other mods. I think LordHavoc and RenegadeC played it, don't know who else I shared it with.

Me!

Nope, never touched it. I had that fast fireball launcher that replaced the RL mod you created.

...That said "You got the Ground Pounder" on pickup, and thus launched rockets at high speeds which quickly lost their inertia and pounded into the ground doing moderate damage?

Oh, whoops ;D
It's been awhile and thought 'Ground Pounder' was a whole different weapon entirely.

I liked it.. maybe it should have had faster fire rate, so it would have been easier to explode the energy ball with the beam. Now it usually hit the target before I could refire the gun.
