Funny/weird moments in Quake...
This topic is about funny moments you had in Quake, in any mods.
Well, my moment was not THAT funny, but a little time ago, I had nothing else to do, so I was playing Clan Arena at dm3. Everybody dead, except me and an enemy. I only had 2 health points. I was searching for him in about 1 minute, I gone from megahealth to water bridge, and fired a rocket in the stairs direction by "accidentally" sliding my finger through the fire button. I thinked that nobody was there, immediately after firing the rocket I was thinking to go camp in the red armor area. I heard an explosion with a gib sound together, and that explosion was my rocket! That guy came from nowhere, he became really pissed! My teammates were glad to see that... lol.

I once travelled to Gloom Keep and put on the notarget mode and watched the monsters walking around there... then I was thinking like hmmm.. so they live here... then I tried to get a fiend trapped with an elevator, but they were hideously sneaky and avoided my trapping plans. I should have poured some Eau de'Player into the elevator and they'd probably be humping the elevator like some crazy fiends. Paris might have been better place to go shopping for Eau de'Player...

A few weeks ago I was playing e1m1 for the 10,000th time (probably not an exaggeration). I ducked behind the explobox and the dog pounced on it, blowing it up. I survived but the gibbed dog's head actually chased me for half a second, including another pounce, before it stopped moving. Never seen that happen before.

Another one I remembered right now.
I've coded "simple" deathmatch bots (less than 400 lines of code) with multiskin support, I made teams for each skin, adn I didn't make the bots to show on the scoreboard, to make more than 16 players in game.
I've started a match, with 25 bots on each team. What happened is similar to Sajt, "living heads". When I killed a bot his head keeps chasing, strafing, roaming, and firing, and it is unkillable. This also happens with TutorBot sometimes.

When I was testing the Sonic Gauntlet for Hellsmash, I chased a Sajt class frikbot into the lower cage on DM1. Big mistake because the Sajt class does double damage with melee weapons and the frikbot decided to get aggressive. Since I'd already implimented gibs flying in the opposite direction from which damage came and I was low on health at the time, my gibs soared right back out of the cage entrance.
Okay, so it doesn't sound really funny, but you'd have to have been there to actually see it.

I just finished all episodes, gone in to Shub-Nigguraths pit and killed her.. Then a Shambler teleports on to the platform with the remains of Shub-Niggurath and starts walking back and forth groaning and moaning of Shub-Niggurath's death. He was kinda sad..

Many, many time ago, back when I had only modem connection to internet, I was running a non-dedicated deathmatch game in stock start map, just to test a DM mod I was working on then. Suddenly, a player popped from nowhere ("player noname has joined the game"), and stared idle with its white/white color set, in the spawn point. I fired a rocket on him, he died and disconnected, never turning back. I never knew if it was actually someone trying to play in my private server, a bug in the mod I was developing (it had the ReaperBot code embedded, but I didn't spawned any then) or the ghost of some player I killed somewhere coming to haunt me...
I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC

I recall one round in a RA match, lasting minutes, which is quite a while for a RA match... we eventually find ourselves at opposite ends of the level, I'm on a bridge, hes on a hill, just looking at each other.
So I fire my shotgun, just once. He crumples.
Apparently I had been cautiously stalking for the past 30 seconds or so, a player with very very little health.

...and all around me was the chaos of battle and the reek of running blood.... and for the first time in my life I knew true happiness.

playing Team fortress online with random-ass people, and stating in chat that I want to call a truce and everyone immediately stops killing and we all just huddle around and start chatting for a while, even demonstrating our techniques and whatnot. I proceded to do the same on quite a few servers after that. good times. was surprised to see so many people ok with that.

A bunch of scrags surround me on a bridge. I shoot them all down. One that landed on the bridge started sliding to the end of the bridge. It slided the whole bridge until it touched a wall and could not slide anymore. It kinda reminded me of silverfishes..
It looked more funny than it sounds from the text..
